The Royal Wedding of HRH The Crown Prince and Princess of Brunei

The Royal Wedding of His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince to Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah (then Dayangku Sarah) in August 2004 inspired a number of songs which were played regularly on the local media. The compact disc compiling all the songs were released soon after the wedding.

The songs released in the album entitled "Semarak Kasih" are as follows:-

The 20th SEA Games Brunei Darussalam
All songs written by His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah
Copyright (c) His Royal Highness Prince Sufri Bolkiah

The 20th South East Asian Games for all ten nations of ASEAN (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam) was hosted by Brunei Darussalam in 1999. It was the first time that Brunei Darussalam as the smallest member nation hosted it. Admittedly there was a lot of apprehension whether Brunei Darussalam with its then tiny 300,000 population can actually pull it off, given that much larger countries in the region have difficulty in hosting it.

The organisation of the game was undertaken by His Royal Highness PrinceSufri Bolkiah and the eventual success of the 20th SEA Games was certainly due to his chairmanship. During the games, His Royal Highness took an active role in making sure the game was conducted smoothly and despite his busy schedule, His Royal Highness also managed to take time to write, produce and distribute for free the songs of the 20th SEA Games CD to stimulate the public's interest and stoke the nationalistic fervour to support Brunei athletes. Our congratulations and our thanks to His Royal Highness for making Bruneians proud of being Bruneians.
